“”There are no goals that are not achievable.” This is the motto of the archery athletes of the Lighthouse of Blind in Greece, who are preparing to take part in the first race against discrimination in Greece ” 1st Zero Discrimination Run “, on Sunday, May 14, at OAKA .
In the past days, a coordination meeting was held for the participation of the Lighthouse of Blind in the specific race, which is organized by the Runners of Hope, in collaboration with the Association of Participants in Olympic Games and the Hellenic Paralympics Association , with the support of Tihio Race and under the auspices of OAKA.
The goal of the fight is to bring resounding messages in favor of equality in social inclusion and against discrimination, messages which the United Nations Organization has proclaimed with great emphasis.
Archery athletes with visual impairments have been systematically trained by the Sports Club Kareas for the last 12 months at the facilities of the Lighthouse of Blind in Kallithea and prove in sporting, spiritual and technical terms, but mainly in terms of strength of soul and will, that there are no goals that cannot be achieved are feasible.
The participation of blind Archery athletes in the race was done following the initiative of Dimitris Anastasopoulos, high school student, athlete of Sports Club Kareas, Archery champion with Pan-Hellenic distinctions , who was the initiator of the organized learning of archery for people with visual disabilities at the Lighthouse of Blind, where the first division of archery athletes for people with visual disabilities in Greece operated.
